A pub that's always struggled being outside the main Village of Harbury. Its last proprietors vanished to China leaving the building vacant. Shortly after caravans occupied the carpark and people gained entry damaging doors and wondows, rapidly the building fell into disrepair.
For a period locals suspected squatters, with windows opening and closing. Pigeons could be seen entering the open windows. Occasionally a lone van quietly sets up a temporary home in the carpark, leaving no trace.
Years after its abandonment The Great Western Conference lounge was struck off Companies house in April 2023, dissolved with the property being claimed by the Crown.
